Hello,

I need a backup program which can automatically create incremental daily backup and produce a log of files that were backed. Advise will be appreciated.

EDIT: I'm on manjaro KDE.

TIA

Timeshift is a system restore utility which takes snapshots
of the system at regular intervals. These snapshots can be restored
at a later date to undo system changes. Creates incremental snapshots
using rsync or BTRFS snapshots using BTRFS tools.

I use kbackup, although I am not sure if it creates logs.

You might try :
Kup is a backup tool for KDE's Plasma desktop created for helping people to
keep up-to-date backups of their personal files.
.
Features :
- Incremental backup archive with the use of "bup".
- Synchronized folders with the use of "rsync".
- Support for local filesystem or external usb storage.
- Monitor availibilty of backup destination.
- Integration into KDE's Plasma desktop.

Great, I'll try that. Many thanks.

Timeshift automatically creates snapshots of your operating system. So you can roll back an update if it causes problems for example. By default, it does not back up user files.

A Backup Tool, eg KBackup etc, is for backing up your user files and optionally the list of programs you installed.

If you want incremental backups, and there's a log of files, then you may be more interested in Deja Dup.

I have recently started using Macrium Reflect 7 to make my backups

1. It is Free
2. It is Fast....9 minutes to back up 40gb (approx)
3. It saves to an external hard drive or SSD which is formatted to NTFS
4. both Incremental and Diferential Backups are available.
5. It saves a system image, which can be easily transferred to a new hard disk or ssd.....or from hdd to ssd....etc
