Has anyone gotten Backintime to work on 22.04 (Jammy)? Word on the street is that Python3 is the problem.

G'day @sofasurfer and welcome to linux.org :)

I have yet to use Backintime (sooner or later) but can tell you that Timeshift works in Jammy, if that is not a deal breaker.

Cheers

You might try deja-dup or pika backup.

I understand that timeshift is for whole system backup which is what I use it for. I need Backintime for /Home.

if its just one directory i think rsync would do it .

probably cd to /home in my case i have 2 subdirectories with 'andrew' being one.

So command from /home would be
Code:
 sudo rsync -avu /andrew /backuppath

a flag is archive which is recursive

but you can add home i think to timeshift by selecting in config on gui
