Update: My copy of 'Gimp: The Complete Guide' just arrived in the post this morning and I have to say it is REALLY good.
'The Complete Guide' is only 98 pages, containing 28 simple, practical tutorials, covering pretty much every aspect of Gimp. The tutorials are split into four sections: Get Set Up, Learn the Basics, Essential Skills and Projects.
Being a bookazine, it is not as comprehensive as Akkana Pecks 'Beginning Gimp: From Novice to Professional', but there is a lot of content crammed into those 98 pages. And it is only £9.99 (compared to £40 for 'From Novice to Professional'), so great value too!
The tutorials presented in the book are easy to follow, with plenty of screenshots to help guide you and are suitable for anybody who is new to Gimp; Be they rank amateurs who are just starting out with photo editing, or seasoned photoshop pros who are trying Gimp for the first time. To appease any hardcore Adobe fans, it even dedicates a page to customising Gimps UI and keyboard shortcuts to make it look and behave more like Photoshop!
I'd highly recommend a copy of 'Gimp: The Complete Guide' to anybody who wants to learn more about the many tools available in Gimp and how to use them effectively!
