Application Volume goes to 0 Every Time a New Person Joins the Zoom Call

I know, Zoom is lame, but I have to use it. But something that's been annoying me for quite some time now is that whenever I join a call or if anyone else joins the call, my application volume for Zoom instantly drops to 0 and I have to manually turn it back up throughout the course of the call, which is annoying to multitask, especially if my volume goes off while I'm talking to someone.

I can't find any settings that fix this, and if it helps, this started happening after I let someone use Zoom on my computer, so they probably messed something up and I just can't figure out what it is.

I don't use Zoom, but memory tells me that there was a similar question on AskUbuntu recently.

The problem was resolved by them using the options in their account to disable automatic volume adjustment.

I have no idea if that will work for you. I just happen to remember it. I don't actually use Zoom.
