I have to set up a router to create a WAN outlet so as to connect to my ISP. At the moment I do this through a mini WAN port in vindows.
I have looked into the router I want it is a TP-link TL-600VPN first choice and the second choice is a Mikrotik HAP AC2 model RBD52G-5NACD2HND-TC and I may require the assistance with setting it up.

You know the TP-Link is not wireless, right? Just checking. In your other thread you indicated you wanted wireless for wife's new laptop.

Yes! I am aware of that that is its only draw back but I can configure it to so that I can add a wireless set-up to cover that. That is why I am also considering the Mikrotik option as it is a dual router.

You should take a look at Ubiquiti
I have looked at them but well out of my price range, the missus has a pink willie over it as it is.
Over here the prices are nearly half as much as I payed to get this rig and that was only 25,000 UAH ( about 1,000 $US) They start off from memory about 13,000 UAH. (520 $US ) Whereas the options I am looking at are around 80 $US. And the missus won't have a hizzy fit at that price.

Just down loaded the User guide and the quick starter Guide for it.
Maybe there was a reason that the hot water service decided to sh*t itself and leaking water.

Who knows ? :)

Its a little more expensive than here (equivalent of 80€ against 60€ here) but still a good price.
It has a nice web ui for easy configuration and a list style configuration panel if you want to go deeper.
And if you really want to tune it at your taste you can even SSH and use standard linux commands.

We had some french people complaining about lacking support of some configuration that was quite specific to our country and guess what ? They actually added the missing features.

https://www.ui.com/download/edgemax this page itself says a lot. It's been 4 years since the release of the ER-X and they still provide major updates.

I just noticed that Brain Computers has none in stock. That is roughly what the wording says in English under the price.
Hemae means "none / all gone" the letter that looks like B in this case means "in" and наявності means "available / availability." Most times I go in there anyway they normally have to order it in even though the site says it is availble. Just have to go to the local shop here and order it through them.

Haha, I think it worth pointing it out. I once told DLINK that their AP couldn't sync with NTP if they were not configured as router (probably no route set for outside world). It's been few years now and my AP is still out of sync... Which is a problem because for some reason I have to reboot it every month or so due to stability problems. I would like to use the scheduled reboot feature without risking a downtime during an intense FPS gaming session.

They fixed a broken link to a firmware when I told them, but I guess its easier than actually fixing the firmware itself.

Ubuquiti looks like a very nice product. Just in case you are still considering the TP-Link, I would also caution that you be sure to get the latest version (V4) or be prepared to flash a firmware update to it. Earlier versions V2 and V3 were found to have some vulnerabilities with their firmware. :(
