Has anybody used Anonsurf on debian 12 before? if so, could you give a tutorial? Im asking becuase it seems like its the best free alternative to vpns that sell our information in order to pay for their servers. Which in turn makes the free "vpn" useless.

This is a little dated, but it's the tutorial I used when setting up/using on Mint

Only occasionally and then when using my Parrot drive

Just to update you, Anonsurf is currently undergoing a major update by DMKnight [one of our developers on Parrot sec] he has been working on it for months, and looks like getting near to completion, as in the past it is written for parrot sec but will at some point be ported as a deb package to install on Kali and Ubuntu based builds, [but I doubt it will be a straightforward process ]

Probably the same as on Kali, since Kali is based on Debian-testing.

I have become interested in Mullvad's browser. So far, I am too dumb to be able to figure out how to make it run !

Hello! Developer of AnonSurf here. It's kinda late but latest AnonSurf version was officially released. I would like to point out for those who didn't try (and want to try)
1. It's not alternative for VPN.
2. It no longer uses GTK binding of Nim. It's using Vala for GUI. This update makes GUI be more stable than previous version (and a lot of upgrade that I couldn't do with GTK binding of Nim).
3. It should be easier to build on any distro that has dependencies in theory. I tested everything on Ubuntu environment. However, Gnome removed systray icon so I do not recommend running it on Gnome Desktop
4. The "Kali Anonsurf" is a fork of older version of AnonSurf. Build it is different from my version.
5. I updated Readme so Readme.md should be enough to build and install AnonSurf.

Quite easy. Download the archive from their site, extract the archive wherever. Navigate to where you extracted and double click "mullvad-browser", double click he installer and you are done.
The installer icon will change into an "M" icon and that will open your Mullvad browser. Basically the same as Tor Browser 'installation'.

You can drag the mullvad icon anywhere you want.

de post #8 above, it is available to Parrot users and some Debian users, but as far as I am aware it has not yet been upgraded for Kali
