Is Android a Linux system?

Is Android a Linux system?
Could be argued either way, some would say yes some would say no and both would be correct. It depends on how you define Linux. Having looked at all the arguments both for and against it being, then I would say it was similar, but not the same, like for example an Neanderthal is similar to a Homo Sapien, but not completely the same thing. So the answer is yes and no or no and yes

Eddie Paul, use your fingers - Google up "android linux", read the first 3 or 4 entries you see, and come back and tell us what answers you have learned.

Cheers

Dear @Eddie Paul Litz

Opinions differ.
While Linux Foundation considers the Android as a distro and the same time big web pages like Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Linux_distributions

and / or distrowatch.com,
https://distrowatch.com/

refer to Android as a official distro,

International community, it is inconsistent.
https://www.fossmint.com/difference-between-android-and-linux/

and i think the main reason is this:
Android uses its own C library, Bionic; while Linux distros use GNU C library.
