I just bought a new alfa Network adapter. I pray its compatible with kali linux. Should be here today. From Amazon

When buying things like wireless adapters, always narrow down the search with a "+Linux" or whatever the site has for searching within a subsection. ALWAYS do that. As a Linux user, you can't really skip it.

I have never checked when buying a laptop or system with a wireless card in it if it had Linux support, I've never not had one working.

@Rachmani3652 did you buy one of these?

I always check. So far, so good! I even contact the vendor, if needed, to ask about Linux support.

I hate duplicating work.

No. I bought an adapter. Not a laptop with a wireless card in it that worked with Kali. I've never had one of those laptops

Why? So I make sure the adapter is Linux compatible?

Nice! I have the Alfa AWUS036ACH.

Assuming your AWUS036NHA uses the same Realtek rtl8812au chipset as mine, then it's worth noting that the driver for it in the current version of Kali has monitor mode and injection disabled.

Likewise, the Realtek rtl8818eu driver has the same problem.

BUT - don't panic!
In order to enable monitor mode and packet injection in the driver, you can download, build and install a modified driver from the aircrack-ng project with those features re-enabled.

A while ago, I posted the solution to this problem here on Linux.org, in the following thread:

Admittedly - this was earlier in the year - IDK if Kali have done any newer releases. They may have already restored the monitor mode and packet injection capabilities into the driver again. But if they have not - and switching to monitor mode fails - then the solution above should get it working!

Why? So I make sure the adapter is Linux compatible?

I find it saves a lot of headaches to make sure it works for Linux before buying it. So far, I've never had a wireless device not work, while I see tons of support questions going unresolved because they can't get their wireless devices to work.

I don't bother checking for simple things, like a keyboard. But, if I buy an RGB keyboard, I'd ensure it had Linux support before buying it. I hate duplicating work. I hate sending things back. I hate waiting. I hate wasting space on things that don't work. So, I check before buying. It doesn't take very long.
