Abnormal activity

Hello everyone,
I do not have root access. Ubuntu is running on Linux. I'm trying to find the reason for abnormal activity in the system. I have tried cat /etc/passwd. However, of course, it shows login activity at the user level. Any suggestions?

And, while you don't have 'root' in Ubuntu, you should have sudo available.
