Hello! I've been having trouble with booting my usb (256 GB) on my computer. I tried a couple things and I can finally get to the boot menu through EFI, but now it tells me: "ICM firmware is in wrong mode: 15"

Error.png

Computer:

  • Macbook pro 13";
  • Running on mac OS Mojave, version 10.14.6;
  • Serial number: FVFYQ48HL410
  • 8GB memory
  • Internal Hard drive: 251 GB
  • Intel core i5 (64 bit)
Other info:
distro is linux mint 20.1

Thanks in advance!

Ok, I'll take a stab at this.
I don't have a Mac however; I'm trying to help.

It looks like your not the only Mac user that has experience this issue.

Try adding noapic to the kernel line.
However, it may not boot due to kernel panic. See this link:

In the comments under the article it talks about blacklisting thunderbolt which shows in the output of your screenshot. I'm not sure if you need to do that so research it first.

Maybe you need a BIOS update?
