A Pi4-4Gig as a mail client (I have two domain names and about a dozen active email addresses) and a third Pi4-4 running BSD Unix. Why Pi-s? Cost of electricity...I live...

Raspberry pi loses hdmi0 output when audio cable is plugged in

SlackARM is what you need. (Regular) Slackware is an x86 (32 or 64 bit) only. So check the Slackware home web site for the link to Slackarm.

Raspberry pi loses hdmi0 output when audio cable is plugged in

I have an DVI monitor without speakers. I am using an HDMI to DVI cable to drive the monitor. At this time, I do not have the speakers attached to any of my Pi's. I used to have, but then I decided to clean up my cluttered work table and the speakers were tossed into the parts bin. Of my three...

Raspberry pi loses hdmi0 output when audio cable is plugged in

There is a configuration file, somewhere, in the /boot directory that you may need to change a setting or two, in order to keep your HDMI function and have the audio go out the 3.5mm port. By default, the audio is bundled to be on HDMI, when you are using an HDMI video monitor. Once you have the...

My Pi 4 is one of the very first units, I ordered a 2 Gig RAM unit, because there were no 4 Gig available. Still, more RAM than I needed, just for a NAS unit. But you never can have too much RAM :)

    New Hardware

Hey Paul, I have three Pi's here, a 3b, a 3b+ and a Pi 4. Right now the Pi 4 is my local NAS for my LAN, and the two Pi 3b's are just sitting around, just to tinker with, now and then. FWIW: I had Slackware Current and Slackware Stable running on these things. You should get a kick on setting...

    Raspberry Pi

The Pi 4 runs only on Raspbian dated on/after 24 June (tagged 'Buster'). I have been playing with my new Pi 4b and running it alongside a Pi 3b and Pi 3b+. So far, I love it. The Pi 4b has a couple of quirks, which I am sure will be smoothed out in the next release or so of Raspbian. The quirks...

I have a Pi 4 on order (2 Gig model) to replace my 3b+, which I am using as a Network Area Storage (NAS). I just hope my order is from the initial stock and not on the pre-order list. I have been waiting for this unit since it was announced.

How To Fix The Clock In Slackware

The hardware clock is, basically, a crystal oscillator and a counter/timer. If the crystal frequency is off, then the period between counts are not what is expected. I would say that the oscillator that is your hardware clock circuit is running a little fast. This happens often in older laptop...

    Building Packages on Slackware

Take a look at the man page for 'makepkg'. It is brief, but it is the command to make the Slackware package. If that is too brief of an explanation, then look at http://karellen.blogspot.com/2011/12/slackware-package-management.html, scroll down to the section of Creating a package:Basic.
