    Solved Backlight MacBook Air?

Hey guys and gals. On my MBA I have Mint installed for occasional use only. Now that the days are getting shorter I sort of miss the backlight on my keyboard. Is there some package available to install in Mint so it would work again? Thanks in advance. EDIT: Never mind, solved. All I had to...

Linux will run out of memory after a few days running?

Just installed this in FF on one of my (many) Puppy VMs and for that purpose this is really useful and increases the functionality of said VMs. It does the job really well in saving (freeing) RAM so there are enough resources left to do other things without having to close browser tabs and...

Can you install Linux on 2011 Macbook Air? Live? Can you undo it?

You can't. If anything goes wrong during the installation on your internal drive and you will just make it say half way you will be left with a MacBook without an OS. As soon as you click "begin installation" the process of wiping your drive is irreversible. However, by choosing a "low entry"...

Can you install Linux on 2011 Macbook Air? Live? Can you undo it?

As far as booting a second OS on your MacBook insert the USB stick, boot up and press the Alt key. You will get a promt that lets you choose which OS you'd like to boot. This is the prcoedure. Apple allows you no access to the BIOS/UEFI directly so this is the way to boot a different OS. If...

Can you install Linux on 2011 Macbook Air? Live? Can you undo it?

Yes you can :) You can even INSTALL on USB and run it from a MacBook. I have Mint installed on a MacBook Air from 2018 and have run "live" for a while before installing it. As long as you have 4gb of RAM you are good to go.

Lightest Linux distros, easy for noob, with virtual winOS?

This specific issue is best addressed on the Puppy forum of which I just provided you with a link. Over there you will find an expert community being able to help you out better than here as your issue with this particular bootloader and configuration requires specialism. Those folks over there...

Lightest Linux distros, easy for noob, with virtual winOS?

Actually, that is the way Easy is DESIGNED to run. From a USB drive. One could install it on an internal drive but that is not the way easy is put together as Barry Kauler explains on his blog and the Puppy forum. I run Easy from a 1TB Seagate as a daily driver No frugal install or anything...
