Sparse File Unpack turns into Infinite Data Suck

The software is Whonix for KVM I tried it on my Linux Mint harddrive, and then an external drive. Isn't Mint ext4? It's being unzipped via tar command which is the default archive manager right? so I should reinstall that?

Sparse File Unpack turns into Infinite Data Suck

Do you still stand by your original statement if the file creator says it shouldn't grow beyond 100GB?

Sparse File Unpack turns into Infinite Data Suck

Sparse files are files that have holes or empty gaps in the data. They are often used for virtual machine images. For example, Sparse files could enable the storage of a 20G virtual machine disk in like 10G. I’m trying to install software which involves a sparse image file. However, when I...

Virtual Box Screen Dimensions won't stick

Cool thanks for posting this, but the ACPI shut down doesn't make the virtual machine screen size persist through the next session. When reopened, it will for 1 second stay the same smaller dimension, then enlarge to full screen

Virtual Box Screen Dimensions won't stick

Is there some way I'm supposed to turn off Ubuntu VMs to Save the changes or settings? I've just been hitting power off. Also would changing screen resolution through the command line make a difference? xrandr --output eDP-1 --mode 1400x810 doesn't work

Virtual Box Screen Dimensions won't stick

On QEMU Virt Manager, do you use hardware acceleration OR have copy/paste from the host to VM? It appears as though you can't do both simultaneously because of virtio mode networking

Virtual Box Screen Dimensions won't stick

Just to clarify, I am trying to resize it SMALLER, not larger full-screen My host machine is 1920 x 1080 If I resize the Ubuntu VM so that it's SMALLER. It will work and shrink the box graphically, let's say 1600 x 900. but it could be anything smaller... Then close the Ubuntu VM. Reopen...

Virtual Box Screen Dimensions won't stick

Ok I dramatically increased the video memory, same effect. Already have guest additions installed. I think I already did the build essentials, but when I try: sudo apt-get install build-essentials it leads me to this error: man-db.service is a disabled or a static unit, not starting it.

Virtual Box Screen Dimensions won't stick

Hello everyone, I had a quick question regarding Virtual Box on Linux. I've got an Ubuntu VM and when I change the display characteristics screen resolution using the GUI, when I close then reopen the same VM, the screen resizes it to the maximum my monitor allows. But it still leaves the old...
