Kernel Update in Manjaro 18 (KDE & Deepin Eds Only)

No worries, I ended up reinstalling and that fixed the issue. I would like to know what caused the problem so if you see anything in the code that I posted I'd love to know! Hope you are well!

Kernel Update in Manjaro 18 (KDE & Deepin Eds Only)

I have a strange situation. I installed the 5.1.1-2 kernel using the GUI tool in Manjaro on my Deepin, KDE, and GNOME editions. Each DE lists the kernel as installed. However, only GNOME gives me the option to load the 5.1 kernel in advanced settings on the GRUB menu. For KDE and Deepin the...

I still can't decide which distro to choose

If you like the Arch philosophy and if you like the Arch feel you may want to try Manjaro or Antegros. Both are Arch based but are easy to install and offer a range of desktop environments.

    LAN antenna connections

As an update, my fix was successful! In order to get the connections to stay you have to remove the card. Once I took it out I was able to screw on the microscopic screws!

    LAN antenna connections

I opened the laptop and was able to reconnect the antenna when I removed the wireless card. Unfortunately, my internet has been out since I’ve done it (we apparently have to replace the modem with our ISP). As soon as the new modem is hooked up I’ll know if the antenna reconnection worked!

    LAN antenna connections

True, I could disconnect it. I am going to try to reconnect what I have first. I was working quickly to get done and may have been a bit impatient! I will post my results once I finish!

    LAN antenna connections

Ok, I thought that was what you meant! I looked up the schematics on this laptop and these connectors should "screw" on... of course I'd need to be a very tiny person with very tiny fingers to actually screw these things back on! I will give it a shot but I may end up going with the USB...

    LAN antenna connections

Is that one of those USB wi-fi adapters?

    LAN antenna connections

Thanks! It looks like they just snap on, they are small and perhaps I am not lining them up correctly. I will open the laptop up and try again.

    LAN antenna connections

Ok, maybe a stupid question... I recently purchased a Lenovo X1 Carbon and I just upgraded the SSD to a 1 TB. The SSD resides right beside the wireless card and when I was putting in the new SSD the antenna wires became disconnected from the card. The wi-fi works but I can tell the signal...

    Multiboot Question

Currently they are just trying to deal with the shock of it! I hope for their sake that it is not part of the larger syndromes that this can occur with. If it is isolated to the eyes, blindness will be the only issue (if that isn't enough) to deal with. If part of a larger syndrome the...

    Multiboot Question

Yes, at this point I do not know if it is isolated (just a birth defect) or more involved. Of course these things always present n the middle of the night when I MRI is not available. Hopefully I will know more by later today. Yes, very sad.

Question.... If I want to install OpenSuse with my Manjaro distros, should I install the boot partition in the same boot partition that Manajro uses?
