Fan control options and other set up questions

Open Synaptic Package Manager and in the search bar enter cpu-x lower case and see if it's in the repository. I don't use Linux Mint so I don't know what software Linux Mint has available. If not than this link should explain how to get it. CPU-X, An Alternative to CPU-Z for Ubuntu and Other...

My Linux Mint 20 exactly like Windows 10

@Nadeboy If that's what you want I say go for it because regardless of how it looks if it's Linux under the hood than it's still what Linux is about choice.

To Linux or Not to Linux? That is the question

I recommend this based on Ubuntu 18.04 and supported until April 2023 and uses minimal hardware requirements. It ain't sexy as was stated by @Xfce4me in post #9 but it's an excellent Linux distro imo. https://lxle.net/

    We have problems

I never worry about getting viruses or malware or any of the bad guys using any OS because I use the best defense on all OSs. Common Sense. Nope there ain't no download and you can't buy it. You have it or you don't plain and simple.

What is the latest News on Linux as an OS base for mobile phones?

Yep it is but it's also all Google and I don't really like Google although do use Google from time to time. I just think it would be neat to have an all Linux phone if it doesn't cost a big pile of money to own and use.

What is the latest News on Linux as an OS base for mobile phones?

Yes I remember Moem She's cool. That's the cell phone that I remember being discussed on the Linux Mint forum. I never new it wasn't part of Canonical in fact I don't know much about Ubuntu Touch. I do like the idea of a Linux cell phone because I'm not a big fan of Android cell phones...

A Possible Way to Improve Linux

No I didn't assume anything. I merely stated that new Linux users in general need to dump their Windows mindset and nothing more. Most new Linux users I've run across all say pretty much the same thing. Linux needs to change this and make it more like Windows. New Linux users say this...

What is the latest News on Linux as an OS base for mobile phones?

I know the Mod you are referring to although that Mod is not in the USA. That is the only place I've heard of where someone actually had a working Linux phone although I don't think they were very pleased with it if I remember but I may be wrong.

Feedback wanted - as I answer the question of what is the best Linux distro.

This may be of interest to you. https://www.ventoy.net/en/index.html https://www.linux.org/threads/usb-linux-boot-ventoy.29944/ You can install several different Linux distros onto a single usb drive and then give each individual distro a test drive and see which distro suits your needs. You...

Feedback wanted - as I answer the question of what is the best Linux distro.

Linux is free to use for no cost and no one is forcing anyone to use Linux. A user makes the decision to use Linux and if the user doesn't like Linux than don't use Linux. I don't understand how any user can complain about something that is free to download and install and use where the only...
