    Unable to print wirelessly

I still don't see what you're referring to. I just looked back through this thread. The critical thing was to go to LPD/LPR host. Which response mentions that? Was it in a link? I'm sorry if I just missed something but I sure don't see it. I still wonder why Mint doesn't detect the printer as...

    Unable to print wirelessly

Found a solution for both wired and wireless printing. You have to go to Printers/Add Printer/LDP/LPR Host/Enter the IP address for the printer, no Queue entry needed, choose correct driver from list/Apply. It took me days and dozens of searches to find this solution. Hopefully this will help...

    Unable to print wirelessly

I forgot to mention in my last post that with both machines the printer is connected with a USB cable. Wireless printing does not work on either machine.

    Unable to print wirelessly

Let me know if I should start a new thread. I thought since there's already some background established on this thread I would continue with printer problem inquiries. I've got a real puzzler. With no action on my part, printing begins as soon as I submit a print job. That's on one computer. I...

    Unable to print wirelessly

Rather than take all the steps recommended I thought I'd try going back to an earlier release of Mint. I tried 20.3 and 21 but I still couldn't print. There may be a conflict between this particular Brother printer and Mint 21.3 but I still think there's a problem caused by the change in ISP. If...

    Unable to print wirelessly

Huh. I didn't try searching on just linux mint HL-L2350DW. I see the results of that search now. It makes sense. I've been running Mint for years and never had a problem with printers until loading Mint 21.3. I'll look into implementing what was suggested. Another problem has cropped up. I can...

    Unable to print wirelessly

I've tried a different route. Even though Mint always had the driver before when I was able to print wirelessly I downloaded and installed the drivers for my printer. The light indicating the printer is connected to the network is on as I mentioned before. Since downloading the drivers I tried...

    Unable to print wirelessly

I set the printer to static IP, no change. Rebooted computer. Still no printer detected. An installer came out today to make equipment changes I was told I would need. Turns out all he was going to do is add repeaters to extend the range of the Wifi which isn't going to help. I'll go back over...

    Unable to print wirelessly

With arp -a the printer doesn't show up. The printer itself reports an IP address of 192.168.0.6. I am able to ping that address. What does this mean?

    Unable to print wirelessly

Thanks for the replies. It turns out the installer didn't install the correct equipment according to Quantum tech support. They're due to come back out and install the correct equipment next Tuesday. If I still can't get the printer to print I'll try the suggestions. The tech said the installer...

    Unable to print wirelessly

I just switched ISP from CenturyLink to Quantum and now I can't print wirelessly as I did with CenturyLink. I am able to print wired. I get the message lpr: Error - No default destination. I'm running Mint 21.3 and the printer is a Brother HL-L2350DW. No printer is visible to set as default. The...

    Qtile

Qtile is located a /home/richard/.local/bin/qtile I did include the path to /home/richard/.local/bin in .bashrc I'm really stumped. I had qtile working before I had to reinsatll Linux Mint 21.1 so I know it's possible.

    Qtile

I have followed what DT says before but there's still no listing for qtile in the login screen. I even manually created /usr/share/xsessions/qtile.desktop that should have created the qtile entry in the login screen. I have included all the dependencies as required

    Qtile

I tried pip install qtile and it supposedly loaded. But I haven't been able to get qtile to run. It doesn't have an entry in /usr/share/xsessions so I created qtile.desktop with the appropriate contents. Logged out of the window manager I'm using (i3) but qtile doesn't show in the login window...

Is there a way that Debian/Ubuntu/Mint can be requested to add qtile to the depository?

Can't login to EndeavourOS after installation

Intially I'm able to login to EndeavourOS, but after a couple of required reboots the login fails. I choose my username, enter the password, then I get a black screen, then I get back to the screen to choose my username. I choose the username as before but I get the black screen then screen...

    Qtile weather widget

The other forum suggested widget.Wttr(units='u', location={'Denver':'Denver'}) and IT WORKS!!! Thanks to everyone who responded. I'm a happy camper now.

    Qtile weather widget

widget.Wttr is not listed in Qtile documentation. I was told in another forum that units='s' doesn't work but units='u' does. But when I enter anything other than widget.Wttr(location={'Denver': 'Denver'}) it breaks the config file. I tried separating the existing command from units='u' by a...

    Qtile weather widget

I installed Cinnamon but I don't use it. I have been using the i3 window manager but I wanted to explore Qtile as well. I think I might prefer Qtile. I definitely prefer a dedicated window manager to a full desktop environment. I have a nephew who is a Python programmer. I don't know if...

    Qtile weather widget

I looked through the long list of weather apps in Mint Software Manager but I don't think any of them will work. I need something to put in Qtile's config file at ~/,config/qtile/config.py unless someone knows of another solution. I did create a shell script as directed to have programs startup...
