    Black screen small white line on startup

    Help! I am trying to turn a old windows into linux. I am able to get onto it from the boot screen usb drive storage only. but if i try to just turn the laptop on i get a black screen with a white small line. I believe its something to do with partitions. Sorry for the newb question. i have tried...
