Creating a lightweight arch based distro

There have been distros like Archbang - https://archbang.org/ and Archman - https://archbang.org/ that are using a lightweight environment.

Why is systemd preferred for lightweight distributions.

Yes seen much vitriol towards Mr Pottering for systemd and pulseaudio - causing much division. Not very healthy. Fact is as has been said there is distros that can be used with sysvinit - so if the conviction to only use a sysvinit system then there is distros to meet that need.

Why is systemd preferred for lightweight distributions.

Don't have a problem with systemd - used Devuan for the longest time, but decided to switch to Debian and so far I don't regret it - Bullseye is running really well especially on this old Vaio VGN-FE15GP 32 bit laptop - pretty solid vanilla distro. Can't notice any performance difference with...

    Hello from Italy

Agreed and you can't look up discord for old info that is still relevant to a problem you have. Apart from the fact I am old and stuff like discord is a little beyond me and don't really want to learn about it.

It's time for a poll. How long have you used Linux?

Man the choices are dizzying even for just .deb based distros. Since I stopped using Puppy discovering Zorin, Linuxlite, Peppermint, MX--------- all very good making the choice hard.

When people ask why you use Linux over Windows,Mac,and Chrome OS what do you tell them?

If I am using an older machine such as my really old 32bit Sony Vaio then an older kernel with a newer version with a desktop that caters for a low ram system makes things easier than Windows this is what you get then there is the TPM rubbish in Windows 11.
