Arco linux "Tweak Tool" lets you install and select any and all of the desktop envorments! its awesome!!!

Yeah the arco project is great, never tested it firsthand but the philosophy is good. I really like to learn so it's really appealing to me but sadly i stopped distrohopping and don't have much time currently. I find that arco is closer to the truth arch is trying to achieve, they pave a way...

New to Linux which distro to be used for Lenovo ideapad 130-151kb

Ubuntu might be just the right option for you. Going with a well known distro for the first time really helps other to find solutions to your problems. Take your time to get used to linux and then you can do something a little harder every day if the fun is there to you.

HALP. constant errors when installing vpn via terminal on ubuntu

Ok so i tried downloading the file from the same place as you and the name of the file is different. It seems they released a new version. The new name is linux_op25_udp_v4_AES256GCM_AU_in_ci.zip so you should run sudo unzip -j linux_op25_udp_v4_AES256GCM_AU_in_ci.zip instead of sudo unzip -j...

HALP. constant errors when installing vpn via terminal on ubuntu

In the screen you do not download the config file like in the tutorial. Did you run the commands again to show us the error prompt or did you forget to run: sudo wget --content-disposition https://www.perfect-privacy.com/downloads/openvpn/get?system=linux before the unzip command

Weird problem with almost all bittorrent clients

Not every distribution of course. Hell some of them are still using replacement for systemd (void, devuan...). But it is way easier for everyone to use flat. Easier for devs, easier for users, easier for distribution maintainer. So it only makes sense that slowly and steadily it will be used...

Weird problem with almost all bittorrent clients

ok first of all peace. I get that people using arch don't like to use flatpak because of the philosophy or arch but it's still the way the linux desktop is heading wheter you like it or not. You can continue to try to hack every programm to work as pacakges with the AUR but what good is it in...

Weird problem with almost all bittorrent clients

Yo, To verify your hypothesis you can try installing the flatpak for transmission or other torrent client. If it now works it means one of your package is indeed broken, else that has likely things to do with your network connection or else. Lmk

    3D-printers linux

Why tough ? it's great to print some replacement parts. I conced it's not the most useful item in my room but it's still pretty neat and entertaining. Would still not be my first choice if i had my money back.

    Big tech sponsor Debian

You said all there is to say, not all big tech are straight up evil. I mean the world is more grayish than dark or white. Very good for debian to have some support from companies. And @slowlearning trust me when i say that debian philosophy is still very far from closed source/restricting...

Lets talk Linux security! What security programs, CLI tools, GUi tools do you use to keep you linux system secure?

I mean it could have been interpreted as a troll. But yeah sometimes people who manage big project can't distinguish genuine cry for help and passive-agressive critism. I mean cinnamon, the desktop environnement of mint, is their piece of software. It's their added value, the thing that makes...

Which Linux distribution do you use?

I gave you an arch award for your effort. Maybe if you just want to check out arch you can try and install it in a VM. It's less time consuming if you can go back to a working desktop by just closing the emulator.

Which Linux distribution do you use?

Manjaro is good too, if you want an easy install for arch you can start by using Anarchy iso. It is vanilla Arch under the hood but the installer helps you trough the process. It is very good for people willing to tinker more in arch but are stopped by the ellitism or arch forums. I don't know...

Lets talk Linux security! What security programs, CLI tools, GUi tools do you use to keep you linux system secure?

Silverblue to disable write on the OS. Flatpak are also containerized and up to date so it's great to mitigate any breach. You can also install most of them from a reputable source (flathub.org) SSH server is disabled on fedora by default too and SELinux is on but i don't know much of how it...

Which Linux distribution do you use?

Good luck, it's a great distro that allows for very pragmatic workflow but it takes knowledge to maintain efficiently. Are you going for an encrypted install ?
