This thread to see how many people will buy the device and to see to worth launching a campaign on Kickstarter

Please don't forget to comment just say yes I will buy it or no I won't

Btw I am not going to open a project until I have a working prototype this is not spam just a project...

Device Explanation:

this device going to have a Linux operating system, in the first boot you will choose a distro for installation after choosing your favorite distro you will start the installation.

Design of the device;

it's going to fit in your two hands like a Gameboy! with 7"inch Lcd screen, you are able to write code use it as a regular computer, you are able to use the device with your two thumbs without moving your hands while writing! it's going to fit into your hand just like a Gameboy! but completely designed for coders! and we are going to write a program for teaching code to teenagers it's going to be a paid system but we are going to recommend free community teachers such as youtube or like sololearn, our paid service going to be affordable 20 dollars per year.

device going to have three models;

  1. Eco it's going to be the cheapest one, this model for low budget schools or families

2) Normal going to be the regular device it's going to have a middle price, this model for teens who wants to learn code and looking for affordable Gameboy like device

3) Pro this model for pro codes who looking for a powerful coding device and it's going to have an intel core atom progressor!

Why Should I buy one what's the point?

The point of the device a tablet-sized device you can easily carry around and code on it, it's not for coding with it all the time but for the places, you don't carry a laptop but a carry tablet-like device for coding

... and what have YOU done to realise this?... Other than just having an idea and expecting other people do the work for you.

Where will any profit go?

I already designed the product in my head, i am not expecting other people to work for me, I am going to hire people to do this project but first, i need to see how many people going to like the idea...

I'm not a coder, so it's not something I'd be interested in. If I were a coder, I don't think I'd like to spend too much time on such a small screen. I don't even like text messaging! And I already have a 7-inch tablet that I don't use. :eek::D

Cheers

While I hate to shoot you down, I think you're a bit late to the game. I think you can do coding like you're describing on an iPad (mini 7") or any small Android tablet. They also provide other things to do, besides programming. I do some programming at work and like atanere said, I'd much rather use a real keyboard and large monitor when I'm coding. When I'm out and about, I do think about the code that I couldn't finish before leaving work or some code that's giving me trouble, but I don't know that I couldn't wait to get back to work and would want to do it on such a small screen.

I like your idea though, but think you'll have to come up with something that's more of a draw than just coding on the run. Is it going to be strong enough to run a website and a database to test code out on (or something like that)? Just presenting an IDE won't be enough, you need to be able to test the code as well and it may not be just a simple script that you code.

well pro version going to have this CPU I think this should be powerful enough: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...-z8750-processor-2m-cache-up-to-2-56-ghz.html
I even think to put an m3 progressor but that will be too expansive :)

G'day all

(Wizard appears in a puff of smoke)

... and welcome to linux.org @furkan161 :)

Raspberry Pi got a big shot in the arm with this, 6 years ago

... but then 6 years later, there is this

Note, too, the involvement with Kickstarter.

Furkan, I would think that you might be better seeking funds from "venture capital" players, but you would have to "sell" them a very solid business plan.

I know of at least one coding and scripting Maestro who works a daytime job, spends time with us, and does coding sometimes on the bus to work. He might have input, and application, for such a device.

Good luck, young fellow ... I think you may need it, but hope you succeed. :D

Hello @furkan161. I think already you have an idea about the future of your project.:confused:
I'm also not a coder but as far as I know coders need wide screens and a lot of compatibility.
Moreover there are already so many machines out there that do the trick and they are supported by huge companies.
Second part of your idea is more realizing and less risky.
Learn teenagers how to code. You can do this with payable tutos.

@furkan161 , this is my 1 cent to the topic:
I'd buy such a device, if the battery can survive 5-6 hours of intense usage - such as watching FHD movies, constant viewing of YT or internet browsing. I'm not a coder but I need a similar device for when I go to parts of my country where internet is just a legend and all I can do is watch a movie after movie. And laptops simply won't cut it.
