Hello everyone,

i can't seem to get my wifi to work properly. The Wifi tab disappeared from settings and i can only connect via ethernet.
Here are the outputs of some (hopefully useful) commands i sent on terminal:

airmon-ng:

PHY Interface Driver Chipset

(empty output)

iwconfig:

lo no wireless extensions

eth0 no wireless extensions

(which, i guess, is still an empty output)

ifconfig

eth0: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet 192.168.1.116 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.1.255

which still doesn't mean much to me.

I installed the realtek firmware as soon as i came to know that my wificard is a RTL8821CE.
I installed linux Headers, as i read it could have helped in another post.
I tried to
apt install kali-linux-wireless

But nothing of this worked.
I will be actively monitoring this post so please ask me to run any command that might help!
Thanks in advance for your help!

Actually went through that video, unfortunately when i try to "make all" i get this output:
make: *** /root/Downloads/rtl8821ce: Is a directory. Stop.

googling it didn't help much, i'm still trying. I did read your linked post and i'm aware kali isn't a suitable OS for beginners, and i won't be asking much once i get my wifi to work, i just need it to get going for a University project. This fixed, i'll just "RTFM" :)

Thanks for your help

Ok, i actually found a soultion elsewere! Guess i only had to look harder. Thanks for your time, anyway :)

make: *** /root/Downloads/rtl8821ce: Is a directory. Stop.

Instead of giving a Path, navigate into the directory.

Glad you found the solution - thanks for linking it!

Ditto to that :) (Wizard appears in a puff of smoke)

Welcome to linux.org @Frisayl .

We are sort of "honour-bound" to read you the riot act on Kali, because we get so many enquiries on it, and 99% of them do not have the legitimacy of yours (University) to commend them.

FYI - have a read of this Post of mine 4 months ago, may be of use to you
