Am trying to run ubuntu on virtualisation software but am getting a lot of hick-ups. Am using win 10. any suggestions?! I have tried VMWorkstation - nothing works

Hi Takondwa, and welcome to the site! You really have not provided much to go on in order to try to help you, but since I talk a lot on here, I will gladly throw out some random suggestions. :D

1. Check your UEFI settings. There is usually a setting that should help with Virtualization Technology.

2. I'm not familiar with VMWorkstation, but if "nothing works"... try something else. I've had decent luck with VirtualBox (free).

3. Are you sure you have a good download of Ubuntu (confirmed checksum)?

4. Are you sure you created a proper bootable media (DVD or USB) with your Ubuntu download? Or are you trying to install direct from the .iso file?

5. Do you suspect a Windows problem? (Sorry, but we aren't really into Windows support, although some folks might try to offer some advice.)

So, please try to better describe your problem so that we might better focus our replies.
