By that, I mean you should probably know if you're using Wayland. Not everyone will know, and you may be using a system that's not familiar to you, but of the folks here on this site, I'd expect most folks to be using their own computers and to know what's going on under the hood.

But, it's easy to tell if you're using X11 or Wayland. This shows you how, though there's surely other ways to figure that out.

I do love me some feedback.

Without X (or something else), we’d have been staring at nothing but termanl outputs this entire time, so it is kind of a big deal.
Was there a program back in 1984 called termanl? That's interesting. Otherwise I think this is a misspelling.

Kidding aside, thank you for this tip. I have EndeavourOS GNOME and I need to run it on X11 so a few apps work correctly. Otherwise I cannot stand that D.E. I'm trying to be tolerant. I think it's a nice environment but only if it were more configurable and if the extensions for v44 were handled like in v38 (locally instead of needing to connect to a web site).

Yup. It's a typo. Weirdly, it made it past Grammarly - which I've been using for a while now. Thanks. I have no idea how it made it through. With Grammarly enabled, the system's spellcheck doesn't work. Considering the hundreds of thousands of words on the site, very few typos make it past proofreading.

I'll get it sorted.

I'm DEFINITELY not a GNOME fan. I'll use it if I have to, but it's getting switched out as soon as it is reasonable to do so. (It's not always reasonable to do so.)
