Hello everyone, I recently bought an LG ultrawide display 29WL500-B, 29", WFHD, 75Hz, Freesync monitor, it comes with a software with which you can split the screen with ONSCREEN CONTROL. I am now using Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, is there any alternative for linux to split the monitor for higher productivity? Thank you very much for your help!

There should be a button on the monitor that will take you into the settings.
IF your LG monitor has split screen tech you should be able to find it in the settings.

If this is your monitor.....

Try looking for the manual online as a PDF if you have trouble with the settings.

Unfortunately I checked several times and it does not have a menu setting, there is a software that can be installed for Win and Mac called LG OnScreen Control, with which you can split screen. Unfortunately this software exists only for windows and mac

Ok, try the Google search I linked. You may find the answer.
I'm off to work--

Hmm... Ubuntu?

This should work... Press and the SUPER key (has the Windows logo on it oftentimes) and then press the left arrow. One the next screen you want to split, do the same thing but press the right arrow.

You're quite welcome. Glad to help. There should have been a 'hold' in my first post, but ah well...

If that's not good enough you can always have a look at a tiling window manager.

Did holding down the Windows key and the arrow help?
Thanks you so much, holding down windows key and press left arrow moves the window in the left part, opening another window and press win and right arrow splits the display in two parts.it works thanks a lot

Hey Man, I also bought the same monitor and using ubuntu 22.04 LTS.
Can you tell me how you configured monitor audio cause I am not able to hear anything via HDMI (Monitor Speakers)
I have tried solutions from askubuntu for updating GRUB
```
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="intel_iommu=on,igfx_off"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash intel_iommu=on,igfx_off"
```
But issue is still there.
