Lubuntu will work without a doubt but it's not sexy. You might try Linux Lite, MX-Linux, or Manjaro if you want a light but fully featured distro.

Fair point. You might say that Windows has learned some lessons from Linux (and other OS) and now the current iteration is more secure than it has been historically.

You are not completely wrong, but I disagree. #1 - If my fantasy came true, Windows, Mac OS, and Chrome OS wouldn't disappear. Linux would merely gain a lot more marketshare...let's say 25% just for fun. #2 - If a Linux distro were mass marketed it would have issues but not the same as Windows...

That would be fun if only I had the time brother. These distros all look like overkill for my casual needs but I wouldn't mind using a distro that offered additional layers of security and privacy out of the box.

Anyone have thoughts on the pros & cons of these "security" distros?

Dabbling in Linux

Maybe I'm reading Distrowatch incorrectly but it appears more distros (intended for desktop use) offer Xfce as an optional desktop environment than any other. Gnome and KDE round out the top 3.
