Dell XPS 12- suggested distro for OOTB compatibility?

Yeah, it works perfectly in Windows. Has to be a driver/software issue or conflict. OTOH, the battery doesn’t charge under Windows, cannot figure that one out at all.

Dell XPS 12- suggested distro for OOTB compatibility?

Gifted a probably busted i5 XPS 12. It has the flipable touch screen that converts to a tablet in Win 10. Don’t care too much about that. But booting to Mint from USB, the touchpad was essentially unusable, and I DO care about that. Any suggestions on a Linux that will work from the get-go...

Newb needs to know: what app to watch DVDs?

I have a pair of old Dell's, Precision m4300 and Inspiron 1300, dusted off and revitalized (sort of) with Mint 19.3 Cinnamon and Mint 18.3 MATE respectively. Machines are old enough to have DVD players in them which has not been my case in some time. Not interested in putting in the work to...

Is there an installable Solver for Libre, OpenOffice, Apache, etc?

Thanks. There is a link at the bottom of the Apache article which might be helpful. Or I can just switch free office suites. I am familiar with the solver in Libre and can run it. I just need something a bit more robust which can handle maybe 10-12 constraints. Versus, four seems to be the...

Is there an installable Solver for Libre, OpenOffice, Apache, etc?

I need just a little more that the stock Solver in Libre provides. I use OpenSolver on my Mac and Office ‘11 which suits perfectly. It is a little bit more capable than the standard Office Solver in Windows. Seeking similar functionality under Linux.

    Citrix Web Receiver

I might be wrong because I have my own problems (certificate authorizations) running Citrix, but don't you just click on that downloaded ICA file? Or possibly right click and "open with" Citrix the first time? That ought to open up your Citrix session

Need help getting Citrix Receiver to run under Mint/Cinnamon 19.3

In case this helps: mark@mark-Precision-M4300:~/Downloads$ sudo ln -s /usr/share/ca-certificates/mozilla/* /opt/Citrix/ICAClient/keystore/cacerts/ ln: failed to create symbolic link '/opt/Citrix/ICAClient/keystore/cacerts/ACCVRAIZ1.crt': File exists ln: failed to create symbolic link...

Need help getting Citrix Receiver to run under Mint/Cinnamon 19.3

On my second Linux laptop now. On my first, running 32 bit Mint MATE 18.3, I was able to install Citrix (receiver, 13.4, IIRC there was some issue with later versions making that one preferred) easily enough. But tremendous difficulty getting it to function as it was not recognizing security...

Having trouble installing a SSD in an older Dell m4300....help?

Bad writing by me to perhaps confuse two different laptops. The Pentium M got retired because it was IDE and SSDs were scarce or $$$. There was no avoiding it, it was our XP laptop which we thought my mom might use. She did, to collect dust under her sofa. It became a charity case and...

Having trouble installing a SSD in an older Dell m4300....help?

Thanks for that. For better or worse already sent the Crucial back for a Kingston. But hopefully applying these teachings to that will help. Hard to work with a drive that isn’t seen, I’ll continue to fiddle around.

Having trouble installing a SSD in an older Dell m4300....help?

OK, first post, please be kind. I have an old Pentium M Dell. Rather than toss it, I replaced XP with Mint 18.3 MATE 32 bit (19.3, didn't work, for whatever reason). I was able to reclaim a bunch of HD space that was partitioned off for some reason, and it works, pretty great. Not a dual boot...
