I've successfully spoiled my cat

When logging in earlier, I saw that ad for Malibal laptops and decided to check it out. While I don't like to make snap judgments, I also don't understand how they expect to stay in business when their laptops cost an arm and a leg. I originally thought System76 was expensive, but now they take the cake.

Because my coworker asked me to fill in for him, today will officially be my last day. Although I'm excited to finally be moving onto bigger and better things, my relationships with everyone there are going to change in good and bad ways. I'll come there to be one of the new regulars though.

When I went shopping at the Ace Hardware by me earlier today, I was telling the manager about my birthday party at the bar I work at, and he said he's never been there. Because he's done a great job helping me, and I consider him a friend, I went to work for lunch and got him and his staff a large cheese pizza. When I gave it to him, he said "You're the man!"

My birthday was yesterday, and my coworkers have been helping me plan my party (which we had last night), and because I purposely asked for the theme to be the 90s (I was born in 1994), I had a RADICAL TIME DUDE!! I've been a good friend to them, and now they returned the favor. To answer the million dollar question, I'm 29 now.

Although I had to work at the bar last night, at least I got to celebrate New Years Eve with the friends I've made there. Happy New Year, everyone!

Earlier today, I had a lengthy debate over the phone with an older gentleman I know from the bar I work at. I've thoroughly researched adverse possession over the years and I'm interested in using that as a way to getting a place to live, but he claims that's a terrible idea and I'd be acting "irresponsibly" by doing so. While he is level-headed, it doesn't seem like he knows how adverse possession actually works.

Although its often fun to explore the ever-expanding world of the modern web, its also often addicting, and its something I've dealt with for years now. Because I'm so tired of catching myself in the act, I've decided I'm going to finally make myself do things that don't require it. This is why many older people say the early web was so much better than it is now, and why web alternatives are gaining traction.

I've bringing quart containers of soup home from work and giving it to my neighbors to try, and two of them liked it so far. I plan to give the rest to my other neighbors tomorrow. They haven't had the time to visit the restaurant yet, but have mentioned they're interested in going one day. Its awesome to know simple things like that strengthens communities, but also promotes a local brand.

I decided to check out the MATE version of Mint, and its a noticeable improvement over XFCE. That being said, I'm going to set up my desktop today, and install Devuan on it. Wish me luck.

My new wireless keyboard came today. I'm going to set up my desktop again soon and try installing Devuan onto it. Although it's an older machine, I hopefully shouldn't problems with it.

Jason David Frank, who played Tommy Oliver on Power Rangers and became the face of the franchise, died yesterday at the age of 49. When I was bringing the laundry down this morning, my cat was laying on my mom's hospital bed soaking up the sun rays. With how they were glowing on her, they reminded me of the halos from the 90's religious drama, Touched By An Angel. Because she's known for being Little Miss Mischief at times, she's not always a gift from God.

As I've spent the last few years trying to avoid Ugly Americanism, I've been gradually incorporating a debonair type of image. Now the way I dress, talk, and behave have become more gentleman-like, and people around me have noticed. Because my bar boss occasionally complements me on how I dress, I was telling him yesterday about why I do that, which led to me making a joke about having him call me Debonair Dave.

Because my barbershop decided to raise their prices again, my friend from work (who's studied cosmetology) was nice enough to give me both a hair cut and scalp treatment (the latter was for my dandruff problem, and I saw instant results). As a result, I'm having her cut my hair from now on. Although I'd hate to see a small business go under, they're going to buckle under their own weight.

Because I've been getting paid through an agency to take care of my parents, on top of having my bar job, I was thinking of quitting my bar job so I can finally focus on my art career and self-improvement. I'll have less money (at first), but I'm going to set up a business proposal with my bar boss where I'd create a shirt with the logo and he buys and resells them to the clientele.
