    Sonny Barger has died...

My old Kawasaki Eliminator is still in my Garage. Last time I rode it was 2007. I am as of this year more and more, having shooting pain through my left shoulder if I raise my arm higher than my shoulder. Had to dump a Softtail when a lady pulled in front of me back in '95. Landed on the...

    New Peppermint OS

Never had an issue installing Peppermint. But I am liking MX more and more. Still low resource use and, Mint has an easier Software manager, but MX updates are quicker.

    It's only money.

My Intel desktop tower has the side off, but my AMD gaming rig I built runs with it on. Took the side off to add 16GB ram to replace the 8 that came with it. added a side fan and just never put the side back on. Also bought a Turbo Blower, got tired off canned air.

    It's only money.

Never went to a LAN party. I got hooked on Technology, my fascination grew out of using Artillery computers in the ARMY. We had a DMD, (Digital Message Device) it was a keyboard with a little screen on that would be menus to select fire missions. It encrypted the signal and sent it over FM...

    It's only money.

I tried it in Doom Eternal at all extreme settings with the 8GB AMD 6600 GPU and was getting 198 FPS throughout. The 3600 I replaced same GPU get me 98 FPS, so the 3600 was the bottleneck. Also the Coolermaster Tower keeps it idle at 31c and the most it rises to it 56. Now I has only days old...

    It's only money.

I noticed you have the Ryzen 3600 and an X570...upgrade now with the low price on AMD to the 5600 to the 5700. All through that are under 200 right now. My 3600 is now in the box. I may grab a B550 MB and and just keep them in waiting. I am not ready to go AM5 and DDR5 mem yet too high prices.

    It's only money.

I have always been a gen behind, never needed the next best. Too many out there had problems. I now have 3 AM4 CPU's and the boards are gonna be cut in price when they move to AM5 next. The main problem with tech now a days, is there are too many manufacturers who pull stuff off the shelves...

    It's only money.

So there I was right around the corner from Micro Center. I did not have to venture inside. But...... Turns out the AMD CPU's are reduced. Just grabbed the Ryzen 5 5600 for $149.00 so now the tower build has it's third CPU upgrade in a year and a half. I was actually gonna pick up either ram...

Touchpad stops responding in MX Linux

I run 19 and 21 dual boot and the only thing I can think of is the Settings menu Mouse and Touchpad. You can turn it off. You can adjust the sensitivity. Found this: https://www.maketecheasier.com/fix-touchpad-not-working-linux/ Also some laptops have a touchpad Key function, rectangle with a...

Distribution choice for the long run!

Tried out Zorin. Meh. I will stick with MX as the one I use more. Mint as the Stable reliable, Bill-pay laptop and dual boot "game PC" and Peppermint on a dual Laptop/tablet because the touch screen works all the time.

It's time for a poll. How long have you used Linux?

I read them all already. So I will have to do something else if I retire. I get bored easily. Old saying...."When I get bored I sure as S*&# get into trouble."

It's time for a poll. How long have you used Linux?

HEHEHE...I have lots of books, all of which I have read over the years I can read though a normal paperback in a week. I used to answer yes to the question..."Have you read all these books?" But lately I have been saying instead, "No, I am collecting the books I want to read, and will do so...

Distribution choice for the long run!

MX 21 Linux Is Based on Debian. Just recently installed it alongside MX 19 dual booting on a Laptop. I am liking it more and more over Mint, which I have on a Dual boot Win10 Build, and another laptop, that Runs Mint. MX is easy to use, updates are quick and easy. Customizing is simple.

Putting my money where my mouth is. Windows 10 vs Linux challenge

I use Peppermint on a Dual Lap/Touchscreen Dell Inspirion 11.5 ALL DRIVERS work. Bluetooth, WiFi, The touch screen I did not do anything extra. It had Window 10 which took almost 2 minutes to fully load. Peppermint is running 20 seconds after boot. I have had no issues. When I got tired of...
