Man, i really appreciate what you have done for me today. Really thanks for your time and patience.
I feel like i have to go to sleep, but i think i should just read the documentation on samba.org.
I tryed the [homes] "code" you have wirten, it seems way more easyer, but if i use that (and the global settings) i've got another error:
Windows cant maintane connection with \\ip
You have no permission to \\ip. Ask for it from sysadmin.
In my other reply i quted that part. I dont see why do i need that.
Yes. I want to able every user to browse his directory, but that is not working. Im reading the documentation on the smb.conf and trying to figure out what line is causing the presmission error.
This one.
Yes, the testshare is working now.
And i dont really get it, but if i copy-paste the exacat "code" from [testshare] to [omichron] (of course with the right path) it is working even with 775 mask.
The [testshare] is working, maybe i made a typo. But if i use the "same" parameters on the other shared folders they dont want to work.
For examle:
[Omichron]
comment = Everyone can reach this folder.
path = /home/Omichron
browseable = yes
read only = no
create mask = 775
directory mask = 775...
I ran it on the linux server, the output is:
omichronserver@OmichronServer:~$ smbclient -L localhost
Enter WORKGROUP\omichronserver's password:
Sharename Type Comment
--------- ---- -------
print$ Disk Printer Drivers
aderg...
You would understand it, its not english, but i take it and try to translate:
\\ip\\ is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource.
Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
Not authorized the same user with the same...
I tryed editing it, but i stil cant acess it.
If i change the "directory mask=777" and "create mask=777" to i cant reach it. I can reach it, but i cant acess the folder.
What sould i change the "create mask" and what does that even do?
Sorry, i used the wrong word. I only can read and write the [testshare]. My face is burning, i want to get a shovel and bury myself.
Is "chmod 775" means that the user can read and write, the group of the user can read and write to and the guest can only just read it?
On "chgrp /media/teszt"...
Sorry. This was my first post on the forum and i havent used forums before. I will do it that way, thanks.
omichronserver@OmichronServer:~$ ls -l /media | grep teszt
drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 4096 júl 26 16:25 teszt
