If raspberry pi is not open hardware then it may also contain the same flaws? Are there any open hardware cpus? Take a look here maybe you will find something with no closed source hardware dependencies.
I prefer KeepassXC. It's offline and open source. I believe it is pretty safe and you can combine it with Veracrypt if you want to be like James Bond :)

I went to https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/rtl8761b-fw/ and i downloaded https://mpow.s3-us-west-1.amazonaws.com/mpow_BH519A_driver+for+Linux.7z
I extracted the file, cd to it, and then i did sudo make install INTERFACE=all
