    Linux journey from scratch

Welcome, Lots of good advice here. I would add, if your machine is capable, learn to use Virtual Machines and do most of your experimenting inside a VM. Less chance you hose your primary desktop. Good luck, Enjoy Bob

    New Thelio Mira

I am probably 6-9 months out on a new laptop, how do you like the Pangolin?

    New Thelio Mira

I am running both qemu(Virtual Machine Manager) and VMWare. Both run just fine. Since the virtual machines run so well and hard drive space is virtually free I have set up several machines for different tasks and experimentation. I spend more time using one of the VMs than I do on the bare...

Help needed with building a Linux PC

You might want to take a look at System76. I was thinking of building a new desktop but ended up purchasing a Thelio Mira and I am completely happy with it. Zero worries about compatibility with Linux. I wish I had looked before I spent a ton of time trying to get the WIFI working on my Wife's...

Microsoft Teams (heresy, you say?) - first topic

@BarriBurt I am in a similar situation to you. I have a laptop running Pop!_OS with a Windows10 virtual machine, just in case. My client uses Microsoft Office for everything. I installed the PWA for both Teams and Outlook and they work pretty much seamlessly on my Pop machine. Pretty much...

    Mechanical Keyboards

I am happy with my Launch Heavy. Launch Keyboards I was never a keyboard snob, but I can not imagine going back to a standard keyboard. The keyboard is programable and it brings USB ports to the front of my desk which is the only thing really missing from my Thelio! ;) The Launch was a little...

    Worth it?

If you spring for an SSD in the i7, I believe you will be very happy running Linux on that machine, you should be able to pick up a 480mb SSD for ~25$ us. Nothing to add to @Brickwizard comment for the second machine.

    New Thelio Mira

Runs great, way more than I anticipate needing for a while, but there is a lot of room to upgrade if I feel the need and prices come down. Running The Last Of Us at 1080P, Ultra setting and getting 60fps and The Witcher 1 at 170fps. I struggled with the cost too, but the price difference was...

    New Thelio Mira

I posted this over at the Linux Mint Forum, thought I would share it here, I have been a Linux user on and off for a couple of decades and a full time Linux user for about 3 years. Over this time I have converted several Windows computers to Linux...
