Holy Crap!! I didn't think we could get it to work after almost trying everything and doing a bit of searching around on that error message. Glad to have helped you out mate! It was getting a bit frustrating not getting it to work all the other ways.
You mean the method by adding the printer by using the webinterface? Could you please show me a screenshot of that as in what you saw. I am quite curious myself to see what you saw and what how different the two available printer options are.
Also you may want to remove the following packages, they are still the packages from the scanning drivers and such that we had you install previously.

Open a terminal: Menu --> Administration --> Terminal or when you open the menu a black box with a white dollar sign in it.
