What distro are you using?

first, I'm really sorry for being late. I use 5.4.0 kali4-amd64 # 1 SMP Debian 5.4.19 -1kali1 (17-2-2020) x86_64 GNU/linux.

What is the output in a Terminal when you input
Code:
lspci |grep Network
and
Code:
lsusb

It says:

"warlockk" I use 5.4.0 kali4-amd64 # 1 SMP Debian 5.4.19 -1kali1 (17-2-2020) x86_64 GNU/linux.

I can't say enough about the compact output of inxi. It's always worthwhile, even if your distro doesn't have it natively.
Code:
inxi -Nnnnz
Network: Card-1: Intel Ethernet Connection (2) I219-V driver: e1000e
IF: enp0s31f6 state: down mac: <filter>
           Card-2: Ralink RT5572 Wireless Adapter driver: rt2800usb
           IF: wlx9cefd5fd1623 state: N/A mac: N/A

When I hit ifconfig it shows eth0 and "lo" it doesn't show wlan0 and the same in iwconfig

have you tried the command

ifconfig wlan0 up

then try command

ifconfig

and see if wlan0 ( or something simllar beginning with w shows up wifi interface)

Bro, I downloaded compact wireless 2.6-26 and open the terminal and hit "make unload" then "make load" and I restarted the network manager by hitting "service network-manager restart" and it works but the wifi icon is disabled and it says " wifi is disconnected" note: when I restart the distro it returns to usual without wifi

are you using your built in wifi or are u trying to connect a usb wireless adpater ??

Back to basics?
1) Does your computer have a MAKE and MODEL, or can you give us the basic specs?
2) When you say
compact-wireless-2.6-26
is this hardware or software?
3) Does your computer have a hardware wireless device or hardware wifi dongle - and has it ever worked with any OS?

I have tried to help someone connect wirelessly --- only to discover that they did not have and wireless hardware...

No, I use a laptop with wireless adapter automatically. If you wanna the details of the adapter I 'm here.

Card-2: Ralink RT5572 Wireless Adapter driver: rt2800usb IF: wlx9cefd5fd1623 state: N/A mac: N/A

This is your Wifi card. it's a ralink card. Looks like it's a USB dongle.
Looks like your adapter name is NOT wlan0. It looks like it is wlx9cedfd5fd1623
(probably those last characters are your MAC address).

It seems your kernel sees your card.

@dos2unix Was @jglen490 not just recommending inxi and quoting HIS card rather than the OPs?

My apologies. Got my wires crossed (happens more often than not).
