I finally gave up.
Two days of frustration are enough. Seems to be a lot of issues with bluetooth running on linux. No answers help solving the topic.
Downloaded bluez, but to be honest - once I went through installation instructions - impossible to follow, I've got other things to do too during the day.
Probably not the right system for me....but I hate Windows and will never go back.
Guess, have to use pads, mobile and company laptop to get things done.

First, sorry that you haven't fixed your issue. Second, a post stating that you already gave up is worthless, instead, you should be providing information on your issue; what distro are you on? Desktop environment? what have you tried so far? That is, if you still want to find a solution which I'm sure there is one out there. :)

And just to pile on from what Tolkem said, where did you get the bluez software? If you would like to start again, give us something we can go on to help you resolve your issue!

Hi, thanks for heads-up. Needed some space after frustrated days. As said I'm new to Linux and actually like it but it's a much bigger challenge than expected. I'm trying a lot, need to get used to commands and reading a lot online.
I'm running Razer Blade laptop (Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon / 3.8.9 / 4.15.0-91-generic) not use for gaming at all though. Bought 3 years ago, don't know how to gather exact laptop configuration in linux.
For Bluetooth problem, Bluetooth it was gone after update, I believe Grub2. I downloaded driver what I could get directly from Razer website for open configurations - didn't work. There's a driver version but Windows-based. After reading a lot online, I tried all recommendations I could gather (Bluez, Blueman, others I cannot remember all names and deleted already).
I also used timeshift hoping it would resolve but driver and adapter are gone. Tried to order a linux-compatible dongle, out of stock. I tried what I could get from the linux application manager, started installing but commands stopped, I did something wrong, no idea anymore.

Grub2, as far as I know has nothing to do with bluetooth services/devices, it manages your system's booting process. Have you tried asking in Mint's forum? I found a couple of threads on their forum and it seems the bluetooth issue is a mint thing https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=274672 https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=271537 Check them both and see whether one of the solutions posted may work for you

i feel your frustration but dont let it get you down. Usually any skill/or thing worth having usually has an element of challenge or learning that comes with it. Linux is both easy and complex. One can use linux and gui relatively painlessly but it you want to learn the commandline and delve deeper there is a learning curve and it requires work but you would be surprised how quicly you can learn the basics of the commandline and the system.

Also you dont need to use linux for everything, i like to read and stream things on my apple ipad because its easier and quicker for things like that. Linux is for tinkering for me, i like to play around with it and various programs from its repositories, its really fun and challenging at times.

So dont let it get you down, nobody learns linux overnight, its more of a lifestyle, long term type of thingy!

Fully agree and......thanks a lot.
Actually, I do the same as you with my Ipad and try to keep learning linux along the way.
Challenges are a huge part of life and without them not worthwhile.
Great and soothing knowing to be supported.
TKS!

Thank you very much, I got your point and actually tried to post in Mint community already but somehow I'm not allowed to message as new member.
I might have understood something wrong as it's obviously two pairs of shoes (forums), org. and mint community.
Anyway, will try and feedback....TKS!

Do check again cause I made that same mistake when I signed up; got in Mint's community not in the forum and they're two different things.
