@poorguy
I was watching a vid on YT the other day by a chap that is into computer security as he has other vids that compare the various anti virus and malware programs. In this vid he was comparing Windows Defender with Kaspersky Anti-virus.
The winner was Kaspersky by a flying mile as Defender crumbled and was defeated by the malware.
Just another ploy to put their shit into Linux to try and back door the Linux kernel.
Remember what happened when Canonical tried putting in a backdoor.
They may try and package it with the kernel but I say a lot of them that get the sullied kernel will rip it out straight away.
The following image says it all.

Linux and Microsoft together just doesn't seem to be a good combination and the only outcome I can foresee is two bloated OSs in the end.

Leave Linux be it's fine as it is and don't need nothing from Microsoft.

I personally don't have any problems with Microsoft Windows but Linux and Microsoft together that's scary imo.

Hi guys and gals,
I'm with you on this one. One of the main reasons I use Linux is the freedom issue. I don't care if Linux does not have a big market share. I like it that I can pick and choose which desktop I want. I like being able to use whatever distro I like. I'm glad there are so many distros out there that I have to study a little bit to see if I want one or the other.
I also am not a big fan of cloud computing for me as an individual. I like my 'stuff' local, so I can get at it when and where I want, or need to. I think I have about 40 or 50 usb sticks in a container with various things on them. That's the way I like it!!!!!!!!

Old school ways is the best ways
And yes the old school ways are better especially for preserving your thoughts and ideas for posterity and not in the electronic medium. For how many thoughts and ideas and other information been lost due to the change in formats since the dawn of the computer age?
So I go back to the even older school in preserving my significant insights, thoughts and ideas, on a medium that although not perfect and liable to decay but will last longer than the electronic medium at being accessed. Paper!
What I preserve on the electronic medium are the everyday items of my likes, opinions of the day and the nebulous and half formed thoughts before they are committed to a clear and concise page of written words.
But when I do save data and information I save it to external HD's and other forms to save the material.

. I think I have about 40 or 50 usb sticks in a container with various things on them.
How do you keep track of the information the sticks contain?
Talking of sticks remind me of how my people use to convey messages from one mob to another mob by using Message Sticks.

I have no qualms with windows per se, I just don't trust their methodology in doing business.
Read an article from 2005 about Ukraine and the law that they were trying to pass in the Rada (their parliament) in regards to the software used by the government. The law would have made it that government departments had to consider Free and Open Source applications first and only when there was not a suitable program for their use they could purchase closed source software, to make it less costly to the government in regards to buying software licences.
What did Microsoft do was barge it way and secretly spun a deal with the Education dept. before the law could be brought in.

Microsoft joined The Linux Foundation 3 years ago.

Microsoft bought GitHub one year ago.

Some people think this is all good for Linux and open source. I'm not one of those people. I think it's all about money, like nearly everything else in the business world. Money, meaning power, to change and direct things toward their own self-interests... meaning more money. Silly, skeptical me... I suspect it is all just a long-term plan to make more money, and to dominate.

I am not sure yet (and need to investigate more), but I see the potential for BSD in my future, rather than Linux. I tried NomadBSD just the other day on a USB, and I'm quite impressed with it so far. But it's hard to break a cycle of habit, just as it was hard at first to break away from Windows. It's also hard to learn new things, and I'm getting too old for this crap. :eek:o_O:p:D

Cheers

This was conducted four months ago and this is what Gates wants for Linux
