This a Linux only forum. You will need to look elsewhere for Win 10 help

OR

At some stage we can help you install Linux on your probook

OR

1. Press and hold F8 just before the Windows logo emerges.

2. Let go of F8 and wait for the boot menu to be displayed.

3. Select Safe Mode and boot your computer from there. Proceed to search once the Windows boot is completed.

4. Type sysdm.cpl and click to open.

5. Go to advanced option and select settings. This can be accessed from Startup and Recovery.

6. Disable Automatic restart and click ok. This will reboot your computer.

Hope this helps

sorry, I am using linux. I am atually working on windows now that's the reason for the mistake.
Linux 2019

is it possible for you to reinstall Linux ?

hmm....no backup.

I guess you have not used/set up Timeshift either

That makes life somewhat difficult

leave me to think about your options

What was your initial OS.....was it Linux Mint 19.1....19.2......19.3....??....or somehtiong else...?

What was the first thing that happened ?

Do you have the OS on a usb stick ?

Is the Linux install on a different pc/laptop or the same as the windows 10

G'day @devlade and welcome to linux.org :)

Linux 2019

... doesn't help us, I am afraid, there are over 500 Linux out there.

1. Which one did you install, is it for example Linux Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora, Manjaro, or which?

If you are not sure, go into Windows 10 and open its Browser, Edge and check your download history and/or recent sites visited.

2. As Brian asked, do you still have what you used to install it? A CD or DVD or USB stick (pendrive)

3,

what of my files on it?

What size are we talking about, roughly - Kilobytes, Megabytes or Gigabytes?

4. How long did you have Linux running before you experienced the problem/s? Hours, days, weeks?

5. Are you able to take pictures on a camera or mobile phone / cell phone of errors encountered, and upload them to here?

See my Thread HERE on how to use an image hosting site to provide screenshots here.

I'd like you to give us 5 answers to 5 questions, please, and any further information may help.

I am from Australia and off for my Sunday night soon, but I will look in in the morning.

Cheers

Chris Turner
