I use every OS out there, as long as it doesn't steal my unborn child (I'm actually still a virgin, giving that 40 year old dude from that movie a run for his money). But, all joking aside, I also use FreeBSD. :) It's a nice OS, but a little more setup is required... UFS is quite impressive too! :) How big can a File be under BtrFS, ext2-4, etc.? :) I like reading up about this stuff..... :3 Thanks for any replies guys. :3

BSD isn't a filesystem. It's an OS (Berkeley Software). It's is much like Linux. I would say 90% of the commands are the same. There are pro's and con's.
Pros...
It is supposed to be faster and more secure than Linux.
Cons...
It has a lot less developers, therefore less software packages, and tends to run a good ways
behind Linux on Xwindows and desktop applications. If you intend to run it as a "headless
server" you probably won't notice much difference.

Heheh, I know it's not a File System. :D What I meant was "what do you guys think of the BSDs, and other File Systems?" :) But yeah, I triple Boot Ubuntu, Windows, and FreeBSD, and am about to install Debian. :) So you could say I'm a bit of a fanatic... ;) Also, FreeBSD DOES take a little setup, but I've found it to be similar to Linux, and still faster and more stable than Windows. :3

Perhaps these will help.

I'll take a look! :) Thanks! :3 Yeah, I always wondered what all those other File Systems do..... But it's amazing how much Data any of them can hold. :O

File System TypeMaximum File SizeMaximum File System Size

btrfs50 TB50 TB
ext450 TB50 TB

Attributeext2ext3
Maximum file size*2GB-2TB2GB-2TB

/usr/src/linux/Documentation/filesystems/ext2.txt
filesystems block size: 4kB
filesize limit: 2048GB
filesystem limit: 16384GB
So it follows that on ext2 with 4kB block I can create files about
capacity up to 2TB !!!

wow... :D So that's liek about the size of that Black Hole pic they took recently! :3 About 8 TB each! :3

The guys on the "BSD Now" podcast used to talk a lot about the ZFS file system.
BSD talk and file system talk all in one place! ;)
I haven't used the ZFS file system but it sounds rather intriguing.
