My linux version: CentOS Linux release 7.5.1804(core)

I deleted the python default environment mistakenly, then i can not use yum command anymore. It seems yum depends on the python default environment.

Anyone could tell me how to recover from this ?

Yes, I think you need to do a complete re-install.
Backup your personal data and then re-install CentOS.

AFAIK dnf - which has superceded yum as the de-facto package management system in Red-Hat based systems - is also python based.
So dnf will not help you.

You could try using the rpm package manager to reinstall the missing packages. But rpm can be a royal pain in the arse from what I remember. So it would probably just be quicker and easier to completely re-install CentOS from scratch and chalk this up as a lesson learnt the hard way!

Hi, JasKinasis,

Thank you so much for your advice.

It seems reinstall my Linux system is inevitable. I will soon do that for sure.
