Bluetooth audio routing... (SOLVED but another question)

Hello All,

I presently use OpenSuse Kde. (Up to date) I have been using Linux since year 2000, so am pretty familiar with it. That said, I am NOT a linux guru or a computer tech. I am just good at exploring software and using it. For command line stuff, though, I have almost zero retention because I am not a coder (tried a bit of coding on MUDs years ago, but it wasn't my cup of tea). So, hopefully you can understand my strengths and limitations.

Here is my present issue. I have a bluetooth USB dongle and a bluetooth speaker. The bizarre thing is this, ONLY Opera and Chromium will route sound to the bluetooth speaker. Kaffeine, VLC, Firefox, and other software route sound ONLY to the wired speakers.

So, I am quite certain I SHOULD be able to get FFox's sound (and Kaffeine, and VLC, etc) routed to the bluetooth speaker as well. But I have NO FREAKING idea how to do so at all. It is a mystery to me. I have been through all the KDE audio settings I can find, but nothing works.

I would LOVE to be able to listen to CD's via VLC or Kaffeine in my workshop (I build guitars), and to be able to listen to FFox (youtube, online radio, etc) in my workshop via bluetooth speaker.

If anyone can help me with this I would be most grateful.

Thanks a million.

(Oh, PS, I have used a HOST of different linux distros - PCLOS, Mandriva, Sabayon, Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Arch, Puppy, etc etc. Must have tried about 3 dozen linux distros or more in my 15 years with it. Presently, I am having the greatest success with OpenSuse, but OpenSuse forums seem to be shot these days...)

Awesome!!! Many thanks. Problem solved! Too bad the KDE team missed the boat on this one.

Okay, so here is a brief follow up question.

I haven't been able to use pavucontrol to enable BOTH bluetooth speaker AND wired speakers for the same stream. But I can put different streams to bluetooth and wired speakers simultaneously.

Is it possible to send ONE stream to TWO outputs simultaneously...?? In my layman's brain, it seems it should be possible...

Thanks.

Yes it is possible. You can set multiple outputs at the same time. I have never done that with bluetooth speakers though but it is possible.
