Paravirtualization

Hello,

I'm looking to run Windows 11 on Ubuntu 23 or Fedora 38 and I would like Windows to have direct access to the hardware, to use its own drivers.

Is this possible?

My goal is the following: I use linux since always, and recent laptops imposed by my employer, who only knows Microsoft or Apple. Problem is, linux doesn't always recognize my hardware well, and for some specific activities I can't do without it (right now, my webcam doesn't work under linux!!!)

I'm not sure if paravirtualization solves this problem?

I have replied in your other thread, Now I will make a general comment and a possible solution,
You have a brand spanking new machine with latest components, it can take 6-9 months on average for the boys and girls who maintain Linux drivers to back engineer them for newer kit, it may then take up to a year before they appear in most distributions.
so I will give you the same advice I have given to another new member with latest kit, try using https://sourceforge.net/projects/mx-linux/files/Final/Xfce/MX-21.3_ahs_x64.iso/download
this distribution contains the latest kernel and the biggest selection of the latest available drivers.
As always, run it "live from a pen-drive to ensure everything works before you install it.

I looked that laptop up and it looks like the "HP Elite Dragonfly G3" is about a year old, so doesn't seem to be a new as you make it sound or was one recently released that is not "Elite"?

the OP states its a 2023 machine in his other post, there were some upgrades to the G3 range about 6 months ago

@Brickwizard : tried the mx-distro above, and it didn't help. Webcam still not found by system.

do you know about paravirtualization

not a lot, as I do not often use VM [only occasionally testing non-linux distributions] all i know is its some sort of porting application
