AI vs Machine Learning

Well, one is used for the other. ML is one way of training an AI.

We also have different stages of AI. The third stage is what everyone seems to think AI is - but we're scratching at the 2nd stage. The 3rd stage is what you see in movies, like Ex Machina or SkyNet from the Terminator movies.

Anyhow, both AI and ML are real things and are in use around the world.

Also, I'd not worry too much about AI being a danger to society. If things go pear-shaped, we can just unplug 'em long before it becomes a problem.

(I should probably click the link, or risk sounding stupid.)

Hmm... Yeah, I was reasonably accurate. LOL

I was listening to the Apple Insider podcast and the co-host, who's a bit of a Negative Nancy, was claiming that AI is just a buzzword for Machine Learning and that the two are actually the same thing.

I had to fact check him.

Ex Machina was a great movie!

A couple more buzzwords for you to look up:

Deep Learning
Neural Networks

(Looking them up will save me time, effort, and from looking silly when I try to explain it.)

Both terms are actually mentioned in the article I linked. ;-)
They just don't have their own subheadings.

Deep learning, an advanced method of machine learning, goes a step further. Deep learning models use large neural networks — networks that function like a human brain to logically analyze data — to learn complex patterns and make predictions independent of human input.

Ah, good. LOL I only skimmed it yesterday after responding. I wanted to make sure I was correct before smashing the post reply button.
