Covid Corner

Most people in the US have had only 4 shots. The ones who are recommended to get 5 shots fall into less common categories.

Ditto in Australia

Only those with severe immuno deficiencies cop a fifth shot

Diabetes does not qualify a person for the fifth shot.

Had 5 shots here but both wife and I ended up with a mild case of COVID. All better for now. But Would avoid it if possible.

You want to tell my Doctor that.

Here we can get the 5th shot for just being over 55.

Which just goes to show the differences in approach from one side of the world to the other....indeed those differences may well be apparent even within the confines of just one town....My Doctor is a touch blasé/hard to read, about the whole thing....he does not readily voice an opinion one way or another.

We're going to face something similar for non-COVID reasons.

After WWII we propagated like bunnies. This caused a huge population spike, which was also aided by modern medicine lowering the infant mortality rate. So, a bunch of us made it through childhood (despite the differences between today and yesterday) and we're due to have a giant die-off reminiscent of the dinosaurs.

Our fourth wave of Covid lasted longer than previous waves but led to less severe illness than the third wave last winter.
That was the key finding of a new report from the chief medical officer, Paul Kelly, into the Omicron wave which ended in late February.
The report also coincided with the release of an updated vaccination guide from the World Health Organization, which said that strong population-level immunity due to Covid-19 infection means that ongoing boosting of the general population offers little impact. The WHO recommends ongoing booster doses for high-risk groups only, bringing it largely into line with recommendations already in place in Australia.
More than 1 million Australians have received a booster so far this year, and around 70% of those are aged 60 and over, the health minister, Mark Butler, said Thursday.
Butler also announced a host of new measures to protect those most at risk, including new aged care worker Covid-19 leave grants, to begin on 1 April. More than 160,000 people aged 60 to 69 will also have free access to the antiviral treatment Paxlovid under expanded eligibility guidelines from Saturday.

honestly, covid has just gotten so normalized I completely forgot about it. Its just another shot to get at the doctors office for me

where I live in the Uk, all the shops have removed the extra screening put up for covid

...all the shops have removed the extra screening put up for covid

Likewise in my neck of the world, Brian. A few days ago I was at a supermarket I had not been to for a week, and I said to the fellow manning the checkout

"The sneeze screens are gone".

So, it appears that roundup has been protected by our government because it is used to strip the zinc from the population in preparation for the introduction of covid.
We also know that covid was planned at least 5 years ago and the "vaccine" was developed at least that long ago.
Do you have any reliable sources to back up those statements?

Just a heads up that I will be removing the Post at #457 shortly, as unsubstantiated nonsense, with no reliable citations.

Conspiracy theories have no place in this Thread.

With the throwaway use of phrases such as

By now everyone probably knows

We also know that covid was planned at least 5 years ago and the "vaccine" was developed at least that long ago.

and

The truth is

... I wonder whether the Member might be better placed for a position in politics.

But then, we have no place for politics in this Forum, either, so that is a non-sequitur.

Thanks for that. I knew you'd have more tact than I'd have had.

New COVID-19 subvariant referred to as Arcturus on the rise in Australia. This is what we know about it

There's a new COVID-19 subvariant of Omicron circulating among us.

XBB.1.16 was first detected in NSW in February this year, with infections slowly rising.

The World Health Organization (WHO) assessed this strain as "low risk" on a global scale, compared with others currently in circulation.

However, the strain was designated a variant of interest by WHO earlier this month, as cases surged in India.

WHO did say it was a strain to watch, designating XBB.1.16 as a variant of interest on April 17.

If it's at least six months since your last COVID-19 vaccination or confirmed infection, NSW Health says your immunity may be waning.

It's suggested that all adults consider a booster at this time, but for some high-risk groups — like those over 65 — it's strongly recommended.

A 2023 COVID-19 vaccine booster dose is now available for eligible groups. A booster dose is recommended for: • Anyone...
