In LXQt, unlike LXDE, you have to drag icons to the quick launch. It's the only way to put them there (realistically). Why? I do not know. You can't click on Quick Launch settings in the panel configuration. You have to drag and drop them.

Then, for reasons known only to the developers, you can't drag/drop to sort them. Why? Again, I have no idea. Where you drop them (and it's tricky to just drop them) is a finicky beast and dropping them in any specific order is darned near impossible.

So, I dug into it. You can sort them - and it's relatively easy, if you don't mind getting your hands a little dirty.

Basically, you find the config file and edit it manually by changing the numerical values of the entries.

Why? I have no idea...

(I'm going to miss LXDE for a long, long time.)

Edit: Live and learn.

Press and hold CTRL and then you can drag and drop them...

*sighs*

LOL It's not intuitive, so I dug around and did it manually (the hard way) only to just now learn that you can just press and hold the CTRL button and drag and drop 'em.

I should probably RTFM.

You can also right click on each item in quicklaunch and choose "Move right" or "Move left".

Last night, while looking for exactly that, I swear it wasn't there!

I was probably a bit too deep into the wine at that point. Methinks I'll retract this article - or leave it up for amusement purposes.

Lesson learned... Do NOT write up articles while drinking wine. (I wrote it last night and scheduled it for publication today.)

Yeah, I've thought about it. I'm gonna leave that up as a lesson to not write articles while drinking that much wine.
