G'day @synergy-now and welcome to linux.org :)

Regrets that your original post fell through a crack, we get 20 or more new threads a day, and sometimes they scoot off into page 2 or more.

I now have Centaurus running on my rig, but I am from Australia so signing off for my evening now.

Back in about 12 - 18 hours if I can assist.

Cheers

thanx for the reply Gemini is working well so far but would like to see Centaurus live boot so if I get a problem can change to stable. I have tried legacy and UEFI as ventoy iso and also by itself using Rufus get the same problem so any suggestions on what to try next would be appreciated

I use that one and it works just fine. Try this; when you get here

Type adminq and press enter, if I'm right, you should log in either to a tty or luckily to Plasma. I've never had a similar issue so not sure but is worth a try. Also, you can register if you haven't and ask in Q4OS forum too https://www.q4os.org/forum/index.php

Did you install Gemini? Is it working all right for you? I had some issues with it https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3413 and would like to know how it went for you. Did you install on legacy BIOS or UEFI? My issue seems to be related to UEFI firmware or grub no sure. I tried with pure Debian Bullseye to see whether the issue happened with that one, since Gemini is based on it and it did, so it might be something upstream.

adminq just say bad command.....install it legacy UEFI did not let me install all the why also the first time I install dolphin and other parts of plasma were not working next day I reinstall and update it. the update actually install older version of dolphin and stuff all good now

Ah, I got it wrong, my bad sorry. Now that I took a second look at it, the system did boot and logged in to a console. You had to type
Code:
startx
which should've launched the plasma desktop. Anyway, glad you solved it. Is it Gemini or Centaurus? Q4OS 4 or Q4OS 3?
EDIT: Ok, another look told me It is Centaurus. Gemini uses a newer kernel.

Gemini is Debian 11 bullseye working really good but its testing so hopefully don't get a bad update

Did you install Gemini in a UEFI or Legacy BIOS PC? I had some issues with UEFI; it installed ok but upon reboot I got: "No bootable device found" error, I tried with Bullseye via a netinstall.iso, just to make sure whether it was or not a Q4OS issue only, but I got the same error with Bullseye too https://www.q4os.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3413 That's why I'm asking you, I'd really appreciate any input you can offer about it.

I used ventoy and set bios to boot off Legacy had no install problems

My concern is that say I manage to fix it, who's to say a new update/upgrade won't brake things again? Assuming it is an upstream issue, of course, which might well be since it also happened with pure Bullseye/Testing. That's what I asked you whether you installed it in an UEFI or Legacy BIOS PC and if you had any issues with it, did you? You never really answered that. For now, I'll stick with stable as that works just fine. Although, now that I got a new HDD :) I might try again.
