wondering if anyone uses the exodus wallet to store their crypto, I downloaded the newest version, it shows it is there, clicked the linux .Deb from site to install, when I right click it says "open with GDebi Package installer, says "already installed"there is another option to "open with archive manager or "other application" Exodus not opening. any suggestions? I have (to my knowledge) not opened flatpack or tried to download anything else yet. thank you

I don't have any experience with any kind of crypto wallets however; could you post a link to where you downloaded exodus wallet so I can look at it?

yes Alexzee, it is https://www.exodus.io/download/ I downloaded the desktop version. I'm just not sure if the little lock icon is specific to this download or that I have not downloaded correctly or allowed some unlocking function. thanks for your help.

Ok I downloaded the .deb package of exodus and saved it to my Downloads directory.
exodus_20.10.9_amd64.deb

Looking at the package it looks like all you have to do is install it.

What Linux distro are you running?

thank you, I installed it and it appears in my file, when I right click the "package installer" window comes up and says "same version is already installed" but there is still a little lock on the icon.
I tried deleting download, restarting and reloading. Is there something else I need to do to unlock my file? going into "open with other application" there is a long list of other options to open. the default being GDebi package installer which is the one I tried.

If gdebi is saying same version is already installed than you don't need to install it.

Can you take a screenshot of the lock on the icon?

I got the program to launch on my system. :)
1. Download Exodus the .zip, unzip it and put it in your Home directory.

2. Open the terminal and type:
cd Exodus-linux-x64/ press Enter

3. Than type:
./Exodus and press Enter

It should launch for you.

yes and thanks Alexzee, I did contact exodus support and their thought was to try the .zip method also and not the .Deb and that worked, I wasnt sure what the extraction option was but it worked too. It's a very user friendly wallet, guess you'll have to get some crypto's now that you have a safe wallet!!! thanks again for taking the time to help me sort this out! (you asked for a screenshot and I do not know how to do that yet)!
