    3)if I buy a Linux-OS DVD, will I be able to choose the device to be installed on or by default the HD partition is started?

    1) how can I mange between bootstrapping Win10 and bootstrapping Linux; 2) what happens if the USB-key isn't inserted at the PC start?;

    I've heard that it's possible to install Linux on an USB-device; whether this news were right, there are some more questions being raised:
    1. atanere
      Hi @ShipWreck-1, and welcome to the site! It is indeed possible to install and run Linux from DVD or USB, but your profile page is not a good place to carry on a discussion. Please open a new thread in one of the forums and we can work on your questions there... Getting Started is a good choice (https://www.linux.org/forums/getting-started.148/). Cheers

    I have downloaded a Zip file but I am struggling to install the software. How do I install the software after extracting the file to desktop
    1. atanere
      Hi @Mpho, and welcome! Your profile page is not the place to ask for help. Please go to the Getting Started forum (https://www.linux.org/forums/getting-started.148/) and ask your question again. Let us know what distro you are using and what the software is that you are trying to install. Thanks!

      Hi Katherine, and welcome to the site! If you have a question or want to start a discussion, please post a new thread in one of the Forums, such as General Linux, or Getting Started. Describe what company you tried to order from, etc. We will try to help if we can.
