1) how can I mange between bootstrapping Win10 and bootstrapping Linux; 2) what happens if the USB-key isn't inserted at the PC start?;
I've heard that it's possible to install Linux on an USB-device; whether this news were right, there are some more questions being raised:
Hi @ShipWreck-1, and welcome to the site! It is indeed possible to install and run Linux from DVD or USB, but your profile page is not a good place to carry on a discussion. Please open a new thread in one of the forums and we can work on your questions there... Getting Started is a good choice (https://www.linux.org/forums/getting-started.148/). Cheers
help me how to install server OS in linux platform then how can i login linux server from windows client system.
Hi @AravindZero, and welcome to the site! Your profile page is not the place for technical questions and answers. Please open a new thread in the General Server forum (https://www.linux.org/forums/general-server.165/) and we'll try to help you get started. Cheers
I run Linux because Windows offered to update to the newest OS...
Ah, you're a funny guy, John... welcome! You'll fit right it. Open up a new thread in the forums if you have any questions. Cheers!

I have downloaded a Zip file but I am struggling to install the software. How do I install the software after extracting the file to desktop
Hi @Mpho, and welcome! Your profile page is not the place to ask for help. Please go to the Getting Started forum (https://www.linux.org/forums/getting-started.148/) and ask your question again. Let us know what distro you are using and what the software is that you are trying to install. Thanks!
Please don't ask questions on your Profile page. Ask them on the Forum instead, where more people will see them and have a chance to answer. Go here: https://www.linux.org/forums/general-linux.143/ , click the Post New Thread button and ask again. P.S. Did you try Google? Just received a Chromebook as a gift. Any advice for a newbie on how to run steam on this thing?

Hi Katherine, and welcome to the site! If you have a question or want to start a discussion, please post a new thread in one of the Forums, such as General Linux, or Getting Started. Describe what company you tried to order from, etc. We will try to help if we can.
