I Remixed Kali and made an Everyday version without the Penetration stuff and added some extra firmware and designed it for everyday use - Uses the Refracta installer, uses Kali repo's - posted it on 01May2024

It is here if anyone is interested - https://sourceforge.net/projects/debian-redux/files/

I hope you'll allow the question - why?

Just for learning about remixing a distro or do you have a specific purpose in mind?
Why Not - Just because I can - why do people climb Mt Everest? why do people jump out of a perfectly good flying aircraft? mostly for the same reasons - been remixing distros for about 10 years now - it is becoming a lost art as they say - like everything else eventually it gets kicked to the curb

It could always be used for everyday use. It's no more unstable than any other rolling release. What makes it unstable is the bevy of tools downloaded from other places that break your system. If you kept you non repo tools in virtual env and did the updates it would be just fine. The solution to this I found and what I think kali is trying to do is actually kali purple. Think of it like debian 12 with all your pentest and security tools. Plus you still have access to the same repos so any tool is available. But it's got some office sooftware, media players etc. I've actually switched because I can write all my reports as I go and keep better track oif customer info with out needing a second computer.
