I have an old Gateway LT2016U Netbook that I want to load with Linux.
I am thinking of puppy because it is geared more towards older computers.
    But which one???

The machine was originally issued with XP but has been running Windows 7 currently.
We are pulling it from service so I thought I would use it to learn Linux.

After you check out m.techradar, may I suggest going over to DistroWatcher, finding the distro you are interested in, pulling it up and then you can check out screen shots forums etc. I, myself, like to check out the forums, because when you are a newbie you are going to have questions and I like to see how they answer the questions and if they are newbie friendly.
