Ethernet Connection Problems

I am new to Ubuntu ver. 9.04 which is the version I am using. I cannot connect to the internet. No network device is detected.
I have a desktop with the intel motherboard 1155 - INTEL B75EN u-ATX. Is there a driver I need or what is going on. Please assist if you can.

Try a newer version: it may be auto-detected and solve the problem immediately (try a live version before installing to be sure!)
