swapping to linux

    hi can anybody guide me how to intall linux as my operating system onto my computer as i installed windows 7 not realising i could only put it on 1 computer and i do not have my original disks to re-install xp which was working fine dispite my computer being slow but it is now slower... yes i know a stupid thing to do. i should have read the details etc on the package but i did not and i am now messed up. i hope somebody can assist as i am not that clued upto what i should. all help will be gratefully received

    You can try ubuntu, download it, and during installation chose "run along side of".
    That simple u must remember to allow Grub to be installed that way u can multiboot all ur os's. easier then it sounds...
